The Government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, met today with the Director General of Civil Protection and Emergencies, Francisco José Ruiz Boada, at the headquarters of the National Center for Emergency Monitoring and Coordination (CENEM).
This centre, within the framework of the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior, coordinates and manages all alert networks and emergency communications in the field of Civil Protection at the national level and keeps track of events affecting the population 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
It works in cooperation with the other coordination centers and autonomous and international bodies competent in the field of Civil Protection and has resources such as the Military Emergency Unit, the Spanish Meteorology Agency, the General Traffic Directorate or the National Geographic Institute, and with the latest technology in devices for monitoring and monitoring national alert networks, potential risk situations, incidents and emergencies.
