The government delegate in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, attended today the presentation of the 2023-2024 season of the National Dramatic Center (CDN) in the Sala Grande of the María Guerrero theater in Madrid.
The event, led by its artistic director, Alfredo Sanzol, was attended by the general director of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM), Joan Francesc Marco and the creators of the season, and included the presentation of transversal activities and the announcement of the season passes.
The purpose of the CDN is the promotion, revision and dissemination of contemporary Spanish theatre in any of the official languages of the State, the dissemination of the universal dramatic repertoire and the promotion and development of current scenic languages.
Since its creation in 1978, the CDN has also ensured the preservation, dissemination and transmission of the intangible heritage of Spanish theatre, with a special pedagogical vocation in its programming, and contributes to promoting the creation of new dramaturgies and scenic languages, always paying attention to the artistic excellence of its productions and the dissemination of theatre in Spain and abroad.
Its headquarters are the María Guerrero Theater and the Valle-Inclán Theater, which together make up five exhibition halls.
