The total number of talks given within the framework of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Educational Centers and their Environments during the first two quarters of the 2022/23 academic year has increased by 30% with respect to the previous academic year to reach 9716 talks, which also represents an increase of 11% on the figures of the last academic year prior to the pandemic.
This was explained at the follow-up meeting chaired by the Government’s sub-delegate to the Community of Madrid, Elena Bernardo, and in which the Government Delegation also participated, the director of the High Inspection of Education, Ángel Canales, and the head of the Coordination Unit against Violence against Women, Eva Corrales; together with them, representatives of the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Municipal Police of Madrid and the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid.
In addition to confirming the increase in the number of lectures given, the recovery of full normality in the development of the Plan and the "very high" degree of satisfaction of the schools with this initiative has been confirmed, which also translates into the reception, during the last weeks of the quarter, of information about how to request the lectures for the coming course.
The presentation of talks in the first two quarters was carried out in 1014 educational centers, and in all educational stages. The 1014 centers are distributed in 119 locations in Madrid, which means almost all of the municipalities in Madrid that have a Primary or Secondary education center.
The purpose of the Master Plan is to provide information to children and adolescents on the main security problems, tools to prevent conflicts and prevent them from becoming victims of all kinds of crimes. The coordination of the Plan is carried out through the Government Delegation, and those who give the talks are members of the Civil Guard, the National Police and the Municipal Police of Madrid.
