The Community of Madrid will receive more than 2.5 million euros to promote rural development programs
  • The Community of Madrid will have 1,651,816 euros from the loan to finance the rural development programs and another 928,534 euros for the interventions of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy
  • The beneficiary autonomous communities will receive a total of more than 158.21 million euros, whose final approval will be submitted to the Sectoral Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development

The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the distribution of 2,580,350 euros to the Community of Madrid for the financing of rural development programs and interventions of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

The territorial distribution for the autonomous communities benefiting from this agreement amounts to a total of 158.21 million euros, whose final approval will be submitted to the Sectoral Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development. Rural Development and CAP The approved distribution has been made in accordance with the agreements of the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities for the financing of the rural development programs of the period 2014-2022.

Under this heading, the Community of Madrid is entitled to Euro1,651,816 out of the Euro104,120,005 allocated to the beneficiary autonomous communities. With regard to the interventions included in the new CAP that has entered into force on January 1 of this year, the Community of Madrid corresponds to 928,534 euros of the total of 54,090,000 euros to be distributed among the beneficiary autonomous communities.

In both cases, the programmes include support measures of a different nature, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and action against the climate and achieving a balanced territorial development of rural areas. These measures are financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and contributions from the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities themselves.
