The delegate of the Government in the Community of Madrid, Mercedes González, gave today a conference on the activity of the Delegation of the Government to the captains of the ‘Training Course for the Promotion to Commander of the Officer Scale’, at the Academy of Officers of the Civil Guard, in Aranjuez, where it has been presented by the colonel director of the institution, Francisco Fuentes Delgado.
Mercedes González has detailed the operation of the six functional areas of the Government Delegation (Promotion, Industry and Energy, Labor and Immigration, High Inspection of Education, Agriculture and Health) and of the coordination units (Against Gender Violence, Citizen Security, Citizen Rights, Border Inspection Post and Civil Protection), in addition to presenting the latest data on criminality in the demarcation of the Civil Guard. “The Delegation, which is like a small government, is the great unknown of the General Administration of the State and, since I came to office a couple of years ago, my commitment has been to bring it closer to the citizens to make it more open,” he explained in his speech.
The event was attended by 60 captains, 52 men and 8 women, as well as one member of the Chilean Carabineros and another member of the Ecuadorian National Police, several of whom intervened to transfer questions to the delegate. The promotion course pursues a comprehensive training that will enable them to develop the tasks of the commander’s employment and prepare them to perform the functions of the superior Civil Guard jobs.
