- It is one of the total of ten that are developed in the Community of Madrid managed by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and financed with European funds
The Government delegate to the Community of Madrid, Mercedes González, visited today in Fuenlabrada the socio-labor inclusion project of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, managed by Save the Children, which since its inception has served a total of 209 families (almost 700 people) at risk of social exclusion. During the visit, the Government delegate was accompanied by the director of Awareness of the NGO, Catalina Perazzo; the director of Programs in Spain, Raúl Arnáiz; and the mayor of the city, Javier Ayala.
During her stay at the center, Mercedes González has had the opportunity to know the objectives, methodology applied and results achieved to date, in addition to talking with the counselors of the NGO and exchanging impressions with the families who are receiving the intervention.
European funds
The project, worth 1.9 million euros from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), started at the end of October 2022 and will last 18 months, until June 2023. The project results will then be validated by the European Commission.
The objective is to develop comprehensive interventions working with all members of each family unit, which involves different services and lines of intervention to improve access to public services, benefits, employment and education for children and young people. At the same time, Save the Children is carrying out projects in Seville, Cadiz and Melilla with funding from the PRTR.
The Community of Madrid has received, until December 31, 2022, more than 6 billion euros from the European Next Generation Funds. Of these, 4,722 million come from the Recovery Mechanism: 2.190 are for investments of the Recovery Plan in housing, sustainable mobility, promotion of renewables, restoration of ecosystems, renovation of public buildings, education and professional training, inclusion and social services. The other 2,532 are executed directly by the Government of Spain.
The remainder, $1,284.3 million, is Objective-EU funding to help strengthen the welfare state, shield public services and revive the economy.
Inclusion projects in the Community of Madrid funded by the PRTR
In addition to this, another 9 inclusion itineraries are under way in the Community of Madrid, financed through European funds and managed by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, worth 19 million euros.

These are families at risk of exclusion and beneficiaries of the IMV, which in the Community of Madrid reaches 54,552 households and 160,934 people.
At the national level, the Ministry of Inclusion - through the General Secretariat for Inclusion and with European funding - launches 34 inclusion projects with a global budget amounting to 212 million euros.
