The government delegate in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, visited this Friday with the mayor of Nájera, Jorge Salaverri, the performance that is taking place in the Plaza de España and that will mean “the improvement in paving and energy efficiency” since “the lighting system will be renewed with LED technology”, explained Arraiz Nalda.
This action, framed in the National Plan Xacobeo 2021 and financed with funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), represents an investment of 290,000 euros and is added to several projects that also have Nájera as protagonist.
In particular, the government delegate mentioned some of these interventions such as “the renovation of the old town’s pavement, the improvement of the lighting system, the installation of solar modules in municipal infrastructures or the modernization of the pilgrims’ hostel”.
In total, these actions carried out in Nájera “represent an investment of 801,338 euros”, and “will allow the town to have better infrastructures to provide the best services to citizens and visitors”, said Arraiz Nalda.
The works that focus on the Plaza de España began in the first week of October and will allow Nájera to have a “more modern” space, which demonstrates “the commitment” of the Government of Spain to the development of the cities and municipalities of Rioja, said the delegate of the Government.
Other performances
On the other hand, the delegate of the Government has detailed some investments framed in the National Plan Xacobeo 2021 in municipalities such as “Logroño, Azofra, Navarrete or Albelda”. In this sense, in the capital of La Rioja, the work focuses on the municipal hostel, on the Cube of the Revellin, on the recreational space of La Grajera, on the felato of the stone bridge and on the acquisition and digitalization of a photographic exhibition in the Cultural Center of Rioja (CCR).
Meanwhile, in Azofra, the Government of Spain has financed the landscaping of the Virgen de Valvanera park and the renovation of the lighting of the historic center.
In Navarrete, the National Plan Xacobeo 2021 has allowed the construction of the interpretation center of the pottery, as well as the renovation of the municipal lighting.
Finally, these European funds will also make it easier for Albelda to recover the scriptorium.
All these actions, said the Government delegate, “are being developed under a participatory approach that includes and involves local, regional and state public administrations” but also “private entities such as companies or associations”.
