The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has approved the public information file and definitively the route project to improve the intersection of the N-126 road with the AP-68 motorway in the municipality of Haro, in La Rioja. The estimated budget of the works is 2.1 million euros (VAT included) and its corresponding announcement will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
To locate this performance, the N-126 road links the municipality of Casalarreina with the Vasco-Aragonesa Highway AP-68 and the autonomous highway LR-111 towards the municipality of Haro. At km 2 of the N-126 there is a T-shaped intersection, which connects this road on the right side with the access roads to the AP-68 motorway.
The objective of the project is to design the necessary actions to improve road safety on the N-126 road by designing a new roundabout at the intersection of this road with access to the AP-68 motorway that replaces the current intersection on T, in addition to the elimination of the toll beach and the reconfiguration of the entry and exit roads of the AP-68 in it.
It also modifies the route of service that passes through the left margin of the N-126, creating a new access of the same from the future roundabout.
The planned actions also include the adaptation of the lighting to the new gazebo and the replacement of affected services and other complementary works.
After this approval, the Ministry continues with the drafting of the construction project where this action is defined with the degree of detail necessary to make its construction and operation feasible, as established in the road regulations.
This action is included in the conservation and maintenance program of the State Road Network, in which this Ministry has invested more than 74 million euros since June 2018 in La Rioja.
