Employment reaches a new annual increase in La Rioja with 143,044 Social Security members
Social Security membership in the community of La Rioja exceeds 143,000 employed in June (143,044) in average terms, which means an increase of 3,818 employed more than in the same month of 2024, 2.74 percent more.
According to data published today by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, in La Rioja there are 118,445 members of the General System, of which 111,677 are in the General System, 4,480 in the Special Agrarian System and 2,288 in the Special System of Domestic Workers. To them are added 24,599 self-employed.
The variation experienced in the employment figures of La Rioja compared to May of this year 2025 is -0.33%, which means 473 fewer affiliates in June than the previous month.
In terms of national data, Social Security membership exceeds for the first time the 21.6 million employed in the month of June (21,611,328), discounting seasonality and the calendar effect. This represents an increase of 40,399 affiliates compared to the previous month and of 461,409 employed in the last year (+2.2%).
The average membership (original series) far exceeds 21.8 million members (21,861,095 members), an unprecedented figure, and is approaching 21.9 million after having recorded 76,720 more jobs than in May (+0.35%), an increase greater than in previous years in that month.
The behavior from April to June (+503,449) is better than in 2024 and 2023, and remains above the average between 2017 and 2019, years before the pandemic with strong growth.
If we look at the daily series, it should be noted that eight days of the month have exceeded 21.6 million members, all of them in the second fortnight. On April 28, the figure was over 21.7 million.
Employment also marks a new all-time high, with the daily series above the 21.9 million people employed for the first time. This figure has been exceeded between 16 and 19 June.
