The coordination between security forces for the next festivities of San Bernabé, which will be held from 7 to 12 June, has been the guiding thread of the Local Security Board held this morning in the City of Logroño, presided over by the mayor, Conrado Escobar, and the delegate of the Government, Beatriz Arraiz.

Security data in Logroño
In addition, Arraiz Nalda has pointed out that, after the last publication of the Logroño Crime Balance, corresponding to the first quarter of 2025, it is confirmed that the Rioja capital is a safe city.
In this regard, it has detailed that it is at a crime rate of 37.8 crimes per 1 000 inhabitants, which is eight tenths higher than that recorded at the end of 2024.
The delegate highlighted the significant increase in cybercrime, 38.9% more: compared to the 265 criminal offenses committed in/through cyber from January to March 2024 to 368 in 2024.
“In Logroño, 1,439 crimes were registered in the first quarter and 368 of them are related to cybercrime, especially computer scams that were 328,” he said.
“Once again, it is necessary to warn citizens to be alert to this type of scams because citizen collaboration can sometimes be a great help in preventing the rise of this type of crime,” he added.
Faced with this significant increase in cybercrime, the number of crimes considered conventional crime increased by only 1.3%, compared to the same period in 2024, a total of 14 more offenses (1,057 crimes in 2024 and 1,071 in 2025).
Among the violations committed, Arraiz Nalda has specified that there has been a significant decrease in crimes related to injuries and tumultuous squabbles - from 28 in the first quarter of 2024 to 16 in 2025, crimes against sexual freedom - from 18 to 9; or theft (from 408 to 355).
Home thefts in this first quarter remained at the same figures as from January to March 2024, with 38. Looking ahead to St. Barnabas, he has insisted that it is important to take preventive measures. “Criminals involved in home theft take advantage of the absences of our homes and a smaller influx of neighbors in the buildings,” he explained.
Therefore, he has recalled some brief tips that citizens can carry out, such as always closing the door of the house with all the turns of the key to avoid that they can access with the known method of the slip or be prudent when commenting with the people of our environment that we go on vacation when we are in a public place, since we do not know who can be listening and of course not comment our plans to strangers. It is also not advisable to comment on it on our social networks.
In addition, it is important that our home appears inhabited and criminals do not appreciate from the outside that we are absent.
