In the coming days, the DGT will put into operation a new radar on the N-232, in the term of Alfaro, to prevent road accidents at a point of high accidentability in that sense of the national road.
The DGT reports that so far, only the cockpit that will cover the radar is in place, which will come into operation after the placement of the warning sign and the power supply of the same.
The placement of this new radar on the roads of Rioja, much in demand due to the high accident rate on this road, will be one of the points to be discussed at the next Committee on Traffic, Road Safety and Sustainable Mobility, which will be held next Tuesday, January 28.
The Commission will present the accident balance sheet of 2024 and the Action Plan of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters for this year, among which is the installation of this radar.

According to DGT data, in the municipality of Alfaro a total of 230 traffic accidents have been recorded since 2015, resulting in 13 deaths, 13 serious injuries and 56 minor injuries.
