.- The data analyzed at the Local Security Board of Alfaro specify that the crime rate - criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants - was at the end of last year at 38.44, slightly lower than 2022, which was 38.69.
The delegate of the Government of Spain in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, and the mayor of Alfaro, Yolanda Preciado Moreno, presided this morning the meeting in which they analyzed the evolution of security in this town of La Rioja Baja.
Arraiz Nalda highlighted that the Civil Guard’s detention rate was higher in the previous year, going from 232.4 in 2022 to 262 in 2023, as was the percentage of clarification of criminal acts, from 37.3% to 37.7%.
The delegate has also valued the excellent collaboration between the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Alfaro, with joint services and mutual support that improve the security of this town.
Examples of this are the Security Convention, which allows access to the Civil Guard database for local police, the Traffic Agreement and the VioGen Convention, the latter for the system of comprehensive monitoring of cases of gender violence.
In addition, at the Local Security Board this morning, the Local Security Plan has been signed to specify security details of this municipality between both security forces.

On the other hand, the crimes committed on agricultural and livestock farms – robbery, theft and damage – increased last year, reaching 25 criminal offenses in this area compared to 21 of 2022.
Therefore, the Civil Guard recommends farmers and ranchers to use the Alertcops application, a very useful tool to contact and collaborate with the State Security Forces and Corps.
In this sense, Alertcops includes a chat with which to contact the Civil Guard and notify possible crimes that are being committed.
VioGén data in Alfaro
In relation to the data provided by the VioGén System, to date, in Alfaro there are 34 active cases of victims of male violence that require police protection, compared to 802 active cases in La Rioja, which represents 4.2% of cases. In this locality, 13 women present an unappreciated level of risk, 15 low and 6 medium risk.
