The difficulties in finding manpower and the impact of the weather conditions have been the characteristics that have defined this year’s harvest in La Rioja.
These conclusions are those made evident at the meeting of the Committee on Migratory Flows, which was chaired this morning by the Government delegate in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, and in which the Central Executive participated the Inspection of Labour and Social Security (ITSS), SEPE, Labour and Immigration, Social Security and Agriculture. You have also attended the Government of La Rioja, Municipality of Logroño, agricultural unions, FER, Association of Family Wineries, Riojana Federation of Municipalities and social entities.
During the evaluation meeting, it became clear that the pilot experience that has been implemented in this campaign to control identity theft has been very positive. Specifically, for the first time, ITSS, the National Police and the Civil Guard have been on the spot in the same operation with computer systems that have made it possible to check in situ both the identities and the highs in Social Security, which has allowed immediate action in non-regular cases.
For this reason, it has been announced that in future campaigns, this operation will continue, allowing us to act in the same field.
In addition, and in accordance with the new Regulation on Foreigners that was approved on November 20 and will enter into force in May, Arraiz Nalda has announced that the Government Delegation in La Roja and the Labor and Immigration Unit will hold an information day aimed at the third sector, trade unions and RES and in which the new conditions will be explained that reduce deadlines and procedures, eliminate duplication, reinforce the rights of migrant workers and provide guarantees to companies.
Finally, and according to the data of the Ministry of Labor, in La Rioja more than 13,800 contracts were registered in the harvest campaign - August, September and October - in the economic activity of Agriculture and 13,730 highs in Social Security.
