The delegate of the Government of Spain in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz Nalda, and the mayor of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, Raúl Riaño, presided this morning the meeting of the Local Security Board held in the plenary hall of the town. The data analyzed in the course of the meeting certify that this town of La Rioja Alta, with 6,283 inhabitants, has some indicators that consolidate its citizen security.
In particular, the delegate has detailed that the crime rate – the number of known criminal offenses per thousand inhabitants – has been set from January to October 2024 at 17.34, below that obtained in this same period during 2023 -20,66-.
Until October of this year, the number of known criminal offenses rose to 109 and the clarification rate was 44. Likewise, the detention rate – number of detainees for every thousand known criminal offenses – amounted to 422 in the first ten months of the year.
According to these positive data, the delegate of the Government has confirmed that “Santo Domingo de la Calzada is a safe city, where the effective police work carried out by the Civil Guard and local police has an impact on the citizen security of the municipality.”
