After the publication this morning in the BOE of the tender announcement of the drafting of the layout and construction project for the refurbishment of the link of the AP-68 and the N-232 in Calsalvo, the delegate of the Government in La Rioja, Beatriz Arraiz, has highlighted the solid commitment of the National Executive of Spain to the development and improvement of the infrastructures in the autonomous community.
In this sense, Arraiz Nalda explained that month by month we see how different fundamental projects with state investment for the infrastructure of La Rioja are progressing steadily.
The delegate has given as an example the award in October by Adif of the execution of the works of the variant of Rincón de Soto, for a value of 65.6 million euros. For Arraiz Nalda, this award represents a decisive step towards finally advancing the modernization of the high-speed railway route in La Rioja.
He stressed that “we are at a stage in which the investments of the Government of Spain in our region are being one of the most important in the history of La Rioja”.
In this regard, he has referred to the investments and actions of the Executive headed by Pedro Sánchez on state-owned roads. With regard to the South Round, “the only reality is that they continue at a good pace and the momentum in the last 5 years has been continuous.” The implementation rate of this large project for La Rioja is 47%, 62.5 million euros from the total budget of 133 million euros.
Likewise, the works of the A-12 section, between Santo Domingo de la Calzada and Villamayor del Río, continue at a good pace, with a total execution of 53.6% of the total budget, which amounts to 84.2 million euros.
The delegate also referred to the new Pradejón-Ausejo link with the AP-68, known as the Lodosa link, which is expected to be completed in the coming months.
“These three actions are a clear example of the strong commitment of the Government of Spain to the mobility of La Rioja”, he insisted

In addition, Arraiz Nalda cited last week’s announcement with the tender for the drafting of the N-232 improvement project between El Villar de Arnedo and the Southern Round link in Arrúbal. The action called 2+1 aims to improve road safety in this section. The tender budget is 2.2 million euros for a future work quantified in 40 million euros.
A 2+1 road is characterized by the provision of an additional overtaking lane to enable said manoeuvre in an alternative and regulated manner between both directions of circulation.
As for the announcement of tender for the drafting of the project for the layout and construction of the links in Calsalvo, which was published in the BOE this morning, it has specified that these works will complete the existing semi-link between the AP-68 motorway and the NA-123 road, to facilitate the incorporation into the motorway of the vehicles that circulate in the direction of Logroño and Bilbao.
In addition, it will improve the functionality and mobility of the road corridor formed by the AP-68 motorway and the N-232 road.
This tender amounts to 427,000 euros and the total estimated value of the project is 9.5 million euros.
On the other hand, the delegate recalled the commitment of the Government of Spain not to extend the concession of the AP-68 motorway, which will end in November 2026, and, at the same time, the strong desire to improve access to it “in order to facilitate the structuring of the territory”.
He has pointed out that, in order to do this, and according to the Study of analysis of the distribution of traffic demand after the abolition of tolls in the AP-68 and the need for actions of the State Road Network, the Government of Spain will focus on the construction of a new link in Aldeanueva de Ebro and the remodeling of the one located in Haro.
