The Ministry of the Interior has scheduled in Logroño the conference “Young Talent for a Secure Europe”, an exhibition in which the State Security Forces, Civil Guard and National Police, will show Logroñeses and visitors some of the vehicles, work materials and specialties they use in their daily work.
The conference takes place on the occasion of the celebration in Logroño of the Meeting of Ministers of the Interior on July 20, within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Young Talent Days for a Secure Europe will be located in the Espolón, in the heart of the city, during the next 18 and 19 July from 18.30 to 22.00h.
Among the vehicles and equipment that attendees will be able to see are, for example, an assault vehicle of the Special Intervention Unit of the Civil Guard, an armoured vehicle Lince of the Rapid Action Group, a truck of the Operational Group of Technical Interventions of the National Police, or the megadron of this same body.
In addition, there will also be airborne media material -drones- of both bodies, as well as canine guides and cavalry units, among other specialties. There will also be a virtual shooting gallery available for citizens to test their skills.
PROJECT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
The Conference will also include representatives of the project known as European Commissioners.
In this project, police officers from several EU countries patrol with their respective national uniforms in places with an influx of tourists, with the aim of preventing crime on the public highway by making contact with the citizen in general and with tourists of their nationalities in particular, who assist in translation and assistance.
In the Conference “Young Talent for a Secure Europe” there will be agents from Germany, France, Italy and Portugal, who will be able to tell Logroñeses and visitors what their functions are and in which Spanish localities they work.
The European Commissariats Project was launched in 2008 in collaboration with France, expanding in 2012 with Portugal, with Italy in 2014 and with Germany in 2020, each year incorporating new displacements due to the good reception both in Spain and abroad.
