The Board of Directors of the State Mercantile Society of Agrarian Infrastructures SEIASA, held on June 30, has agreed to authorize the start of the tender for the execution of the works of energy modernization of the irrigation systems of the Community of Irrigation of Sector 3º, Section III of the Channel of the Left Margin of the Najerilla, in La Rioja.
Based on this agreement, the “Project of construction of photovoltaic generator and regulating pond for the pumping of the canal to the Balsa de la Mesa in the Community of Irrigators of Sector 3º, Stretch III of the Canal of the Left Margin of the Najerilla River (La Rioja)”, has a base tender budget of 2,252,044.28 euros (VAT not included).
The action will affect the entire area of the Community, a total of 9,017 hectares, and will benefit 4,210 irrigators from the municipalities of Bañares, Baños de Rioja, Briones, Casalarreina, Castañares de Rioja, Cidamón, Gimileo, Haro, Ollauri, Rodezno, San Torcuato Tirgo, Villalobar de Rioja and Zarratón, all in La Rioja.
The work will consist of the construction of three photovoltaic generators that will allow to replace part of the conventional electrical energy of the four pumping points of the community of irrigators with photovoltaic solar energy. In addition, a regulation raft will be built at the foot of the Channel of the Left Margin of the Najerilla River that will allow to optimize the operation of the installation.
10.183 IRRIGATORS BENEFITED IN LA RIOJA
In the whole of La Rioja, MAPA, through SEIASA, has completed a total of 14 irrigation modernization actions, which have involved a total investment of 66.44 million euros, acting on a irrigated area of 17,074 hectares and benefiting 10,183 irrigators. Apart from the Recovery Plan, there are three more actions under way whose financing agreements are already signed and which have a budget of 10.50 million euros to modernize 1,766 hectares, benefiting 542 irrigators.
