The Ministry of Territorial Policy has contracted the next step to rehabilitate the former Logroño Palace of Justice, which will house part of the peripheral services of the General State Administration (AGE).
The rehabilitation of the building is a project aligned with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Territorial Policy to bring the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens, as well as the optimization of abandoned state-owned buildings that will be rehabilitated to make them more sustainable and efficient.
Another of the objectives of this transfer of the peripheral services of the AGE is the elimination of rentals that are currently being assumed in La Rioja. Thus, while in 2012 819,342 euros per year were assumed for the rental of different spaces, in 2027 the cost will be zero.
In particular, the opinion on the current state of the structure of the building and the audit of the facilities, whose completion time is a maximum of 4 months, has been awarded.
In addition, meetings are being held to finalize the occupation of the building. This step is necessary for the contracting of the rehabilitation project of the former Palace of Justice, in order to adapt the facilities to the foreseen needs.
On the other hand, in May 2022 the general protocol of action for the real estate collaboration of the ministries of Finance and Politics was signed. In this way, the Ministry of Territorial Policy will finance and develop the appropriate work for the drafting of the basic project and the execution of the works corresponding to the integral rehabilitation of the building, as well as the processing and management of the relevant licenses and permits.
According to the planning of the project, it is expected that the works of integral rehabilitation of the building will end at the end of 2026 and the occupation of the building will be in mid-2027.
