The Board of Directors of the state-owned commercial company Aguas de las Cuencas de España (ACUAES), of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, at its meeting today awarded 13,970,033 euros for the execution of the works of the emissary of Bajo Iregua (La Rioja).
Up to a total of 3 companies have submitted offers, being finally selected the UTE SOCIEDAD DE FOMENTO AGRÍCOLA CASTELLONENSE, S.A. (FACSA)-IMATHIA CONSTRUCCION, S.L, for an execution period of 19 months.
The works will be co-financed at 80% with Next Generation EU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, under the agreement signed on 22 March last year between ACUAES and the Water and Waste Consortium of La Rioja for the execution, financing and exploitation of the project.
The action aims to improve the current sanitation system and solve the pollution problems of the Iregua River, by collecting discharges from the nuclei of the lower Iregua basin -Villamediana, Alberite, Albelda, Nalda and Lardero- to lead them to the Logroño treatment plant for their correct treatment.
Thus, the works consist of the construction of an emissary of 17 kilometers in length, from Nalda to the Logroño treatment plant, and a branch of 700 meters to collect the Lardero spill.
The project also includes the execution of five storm tanks in each of the connecting branches of the different municipalities, which will collect the excess flow that occurs during the first rainy episode to store them until the moment they can be incorporated into the general purification system.
