The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) begins the process of public information of the project of the variant of El Villar de Arnedo on the N-232 road, in La Rioja, with an estimated budget of 45 million euros (VAT included). The announcement was made by the minister, Raquel Sánchez, this month on her visit to La Rioja and will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The main purpose of the variant is to improve road safety and decongest traffic on the crossing of the N-232 road as it passes through the urban center of El Villar de Arnedo. The work will provide users of the N-232 with a notable increase in comfort, safety and speed by preventing traffic through the urban center of this population and its existing intersections. In addition, the residents of El Villar de Arnedo will enjoy a better quality of life, since the inconveniences and dangers generated by the daily traffic of thousands of vehicles will be eliminated.
This work joins the initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda on the N-232 road as it passes through La Rioja, among which the variant of Briones or Fuenmayor stands out. As well as the study of actions at the end of the concession of the AP-68 motorway, depending on the traffic demand that it concludes necessary to satisfy in each stretch of Rioja.
