Digitization Plan of the Public Administrations 2021-2025
In 2021, the Digitalization Plan of the Public Administrations 2021-2025 was launched, which aims to update the existing technical means, dynamizing and extending the use of digital identity.
Mobile app
The program is currently working on the development of a free application that will soon allow any citizen the accreditation of identity and the use of the electronic signature from the mobile device.
It will be a virtual representation of the physical ID that will allow citizens to identify and accredit their identity by displaying an electronic image of their ID.
DNI Express
In the coming months it is also planned to launch the DNI Exprés, multiple expedition modules, a semi-automatic expedition system that will reduce waiting times in ordinary renovations and increase safety.
Mobile documentation offices
Among the novelties are the mobile documentation offices for the issuance of ID and Passports. In particular, the new police vehicles will allow the issuance of both the ID card and the Passport in unit of action.
In this regard, the installation of 210 electronic ID Updating Posts is planned for the month of June, to facilitate the renewal of digital certificates;
Another of the innovations already implemented is the System of Payment of fees by bank card, being fully implemented throughout the national territory in April of this year.
In addition, the implementation of the Automatic Biometric Identification System is planned, which will improve the integrity and quality of the data stored in the ID and Foreign files, by detecting possible duplicates of fingerprints and facial images, avoiding duplications and identities.
