The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 3 953 households in La Rioja in which 11 194 people live, according to the statistics published today by the National Institute of Social Security with the corresponding data at the end of January.
This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty, since of the total number of beneficiaries residing in La Rioja, 44.8% are minors (5 021).
According to these data, in 2 332 households the holder of the benefit is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 53.6% are women (6 173).
In Spain, the IMV has reached 560,809 households in which 1,579,949 people live.
Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), 2 135 have already been recognized in La Rioja until the end of January. The ICSC, which entered into force on January 1, is an aid of 100 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; 70 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and 50 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
