The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the Royal Decree-Law to update the deliveries on account of the Autonomous Communities and also of the Local Entities of the year 2025, which contemplates for Balears, the largest delivery on account of the autonomous financing of its history, with 2,995 million euros, 8.1% more than last year. To this amount must be added the settlement of 2023, which amounts to 1,032 million. Therefore, the total funding of Balears in 2025 will reach 4,013 million, 0.4% more.

The delegate of the Government in the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has shown his “satisfaction for the commitment of the Government of Spain with Balears, which translates into a sustained and substantial increase in the money that the State transfers to the Autonomous Community to finance fundamental resources for citizenship and to make possible the constant improvement of public policies and services”.

The updating of the deliveries on account takes place in a scenario of budgetary extension. In this way, the Government has once again detached the approval of the Budgets from the updating of resources for the Autonomous Communities, something that the PP government always rejected that could be done. In fact, in the seven years of Pedro Sánchez’s government, Balears has received 9.116 million more resources than in the seven years of Mariano Rajoy’s presidency, which represents a 60% increase.
