The Director General of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE), Gerardo Gutiérrez, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Delegation of the Government, Rubén Castro, and the provincial director of the SEPE, Sonia Barranco, as well as the Minister of Enterprise, Occupation and Energy of the Balearic Government, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, and the director of the SOIB, Maria de la Luz Moreno, have inaugurated on Wednesday the new premises in which both administrations serve on Mateu Enric Lladó de Palma, once it has been completed.
It is one of the three SEPE offices in Palma and serves some 20,000 users, with a staff of 13 staff members. The works, which began during the last legislature and have been extended for two years, have received an investment of almost 2.5 M€, through modernization funds and the Renove Plan. With this refurbishment, the spaces destined for SEPE and SOIB have been redistributed, so that the latter service will be provided on the ground floor while all SEPE staff will occupy the first floor. In this way, it is facilitated to the citizens that can make their démarches before the appropriate administration.
In the office of Mateu Enric Lladó, the SEPE serves, every month, an average of 1,450 users, although during the months of October, November and December, coinciding with the end of the tourist season and the consequent increase in the demand for face-to-face appointments, it receives more than a hundred applicants for subsidies daily. In addition, applications can also be registered electronically, which increases the volume of management of these units. In the last year, 35,000 files were processed.
