The Government allocates about 9 million euros to Balears for Personalized Digital Attention, genomic medicine and ALS

The Council of Ministers, through the Ministry of Health, approves the distribution of a total of 206 million euros to all the autonomous communities and INGESA, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The Government, through the Ministry of Health, has approved the distribution of 8,960,742 euros to Balears for projects of high specialization in Personalized Digital Care, expansion of the portfolio of genomic medicine and improvement of the care for patients suffering from ALS and other rare diseases; all within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

In total, the autonomous communities and INGESA will receive 110 million euros for Digital Care, of which Balears will receive 5,430,748 euros that will serve to develop initiatives for the digital transformation of primary and community care and for the definition of personalized digital care services in the SNS.

This Plan will allow the SNS to move towards a proactive and individualized care model, increasing accessibility and decreasing patient care times, by deploying, within the SNS service portfolio, a comprehensive model for monitoring and providing face-to-face and virtual assistance.

The Government also allocates another 46 million euros to all the autonomous communities and INGESA for the expansion of the portfolio of genomic medicine services. Specifically, Balears will receive 1,502,863 euros for the acquisition of health technology (649,725 euros) and the creation of information management and integration tools (853,138 euros).

In addition, the Executive approves the distribution of 50 million euros to all the autonomous communities and INGESA for three other items: improvement of health care for people with ALS and other rare diseases; homogenization of neonatal screening programs; and promotion of rehabilitative treatment through exoskeletons. Of these 50 million, Balears will receive 2,027,130 euros.

This investment will make it possible to promote integrated health care by optimizing the SNS CSUR and promoting the reorientation of high-complexity care at the regional level; to implement homogeneously the programs of early diagnosis of rare diseases and the new neonatal screening programs included in the SNS service portfolio; as well as the latest updates of the orthoprosthetic delivery catalogue; and to promote the humanization of care, by including improvements in the accessibility, comfort and humanization of the spaces in health centers and in access to digital health care services; and to promote the training of professionals in these aspects, which will result in a cross-sectional and integrated patient care.
