The accession of Campos and Puigpunyent to the Viogén protocol was approved at the Local Security Boards of each municipality, held, respectively, in July 2021 and April 2022. The document signed today establishes the criteria for coordination between the local police of these municipalities and the Civil Guard, in the proceedings related to alleged cases of gender violence and in the execution and monitoring of the judicial measures agreed for the protection of victims.
30 acceded municipalities
The System of Comprehensive Monitoring of Cases of Gender Violence was implemented in 2007 by the Ministry of the Interior and, currently, there are 30 municipalities in Balears (18 d’ells, en funcament i 12, en procés de tràmit). On the other hand, in July 2022 the Ministry and the Autonomous Community signed the agreement of accession to Viogén of the units of the Balearic Government, the island consells and the City of Palma with competences in the care of the victims of gender violence.
At the moment, in Balears there are about 3,400 cases registered in the Viogén system, of which about 2,700 cases are located in Mallorca.
