Rural Development and CAP
The approved distribution has been made in accordance with the agreements of the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities for the financing of the rural development programs of the period 2014-2022. In this item, the Balearic Islands are entitled to €1,320,663 out of the €104,120,005 allocated to the beneficiary autonomous communities.
With regard to the interventions included in the new CAP that has entered into force on January 1 of this year, Illes Balears corresponds to 740,117 euros of the total of 54,090,000 euros to be distributed among the beneficiary autonomous communities.
In both cases, the programmes include support measures of a different nature, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agri-food sector, ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and action against the climate and achieving a balanced territorial development of rural areas. These measures are financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and contributions from the General Administration of the State and the autonomous communities themselves.
