The Government Delegation has already processed more than 200 digital certificates in the small towns of the Part Forana of Mallorca
The Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands has already processed more than 200 digital certificates to residents of localities of more than 500 and less than 8,000 inhabitants of the Part Forana of Mallorca, within the first phase of the plan "The Administration near you", whose objective is to bring to the inhabitants of small towns those procedures with the General Administration of the State (AGE) that usually require to travel to Palma. The campaign, which started in November, also extends, from this month of March, to Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera, and has the collaboration of the municipalities.
The delegate of the Government, Aina Calvo, and the mayor of Porreres, Francisa Mora, participated this Wednesday in the information session held in this municipality of Mallorca, which was attended by the general secretary of Territorial Coordination of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Miryam Álvarez, and the general director of the AGE in the Territory, Agustín Torres. After the presentation made in the Municipal Library by officials of the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands, people living in Porreres have been able to obtain their digital certificates without having to travel to Palma, as was usual to carry out certain administrative procedures.
About 400 people have attended one of the 25 ‘La Administración cerca de ti’ events that have taken place to date in Mallorca. Until the end of March, another 7 municipalities of this island will be visited; 5 of Menorca, 1 of Ibiza, and Formentera will also be visited. As Miryam Álvarez and Agustín Torres have stressed, the Government’s intention is to strengthen social and territorial cohesion, combat the digital divide and strengthen equal opportunities. For her part, Aina Calvo has highlighted the good reception of the initiative in most of the towns that she has already visited, as well as the collaboration of the consistories, essential to guarantee the viability and success of the plan.
Incorporation of SEPE into the initiative
The digital certificate allows access to an extensive list of AGE services, such as unemployment benefits, tax payments, driving licences, applications for study grants or the request for grants, which in many cases can only be managed telematically. In addition, it allows you to register a person in the Social Security or consult the personal data of the Citizen Folder, such as the validity of the ID, the deadlines for the ITV or the status of the procedures initiated before the Administration.
The plan ‘The Administration near you’ has incorporated in Mallorca staff of the Public State Employment Service (SEPE), as explained by its provincial director, Sonia Barranco. In this way, residents in the smaller towns of the islands can receive advice on how to manage digitally from their computer or other electronic device their procedures with this department.
To obtain the digital certificate it is necessary to make a prior request to the National Currency and Stamp Factory, in this link.
