The Government’s deputy delegate in Lugo, Olimpia López, supervised in Lugo the emergency work that the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is carrying out in the state road network, specifically in the N-VI, for the rehabilitation of firmes after the storm.
Olimpia López stressed that “the Ministry of Transport has carried out intensive work on Portuguese roads to guarantee mobility and road safety after the storms of this winter, investing around ten million euros in the province.”
The works, which are in their final phase, include specific performances in different sections of the La-6, the La-8, the N-6, the N-540, the N-547, the N-634, the N-640 and the N-642.
During the visit, the subdelegate stressed that these actions are part of the Special Plan of Repair and Conservation of Roads of the State in Galicia, an extraordinary intervention with which the Government of Spain is responding to the effects of the train of borrascas registered in recent months.
The work that is being carried out consists of milling and replacing the road surface in the most deteriorated sections, with variable thicknesses depending on the condition of the road, acting in different points between several kilometer points of these roads. In addition, the replacement of road markings will be carried out in the sections affected by the rehabilitation of the firm.
Finally, the subdelegate stressed that this investment effort responds to the Government’s commitment to act where necessary, with both timely and far-reaching interventions, to have modern road infrastructures, safe and adapted to the needs of citizens.
