- The subdelegate highlights the fundamental work of this service in coordinating the fight against gender violence in the province of Lugo
The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, welcomed the Rosa María Rivas as head of the Unit of Violence against Women of the Subdelegation of the Government in Lugo, after the publication of the appointment in the BOE yesterday.
Olimpia López highlighted the important work of this service of the Subdelegation of the Government, which is responsible for coordinating the fight against gender violence in the province of Lugo and highlighted “the great responsibility that Rosa assumes at the head of this priority service, in which she will work hand in hand with the forces and bodies of security of the State, the Justice and the rest of the public administrations, in the protection of the victims of male violence.”
The subdelegate stressed that Rosa María Rivas is the ideal professional person to assume this responsibility for her training in equality, her great knowledge of the province and her long professional experience in the State Administration.
The new head of the Unit against Violence against Women, who succeeds María Luisa Castro, is a native of Lugo and has been working in the Government’s Subdelegation since 2012. Rosa María Rivas has been an official of the State Administration since 2006 and, in recent years, she had held the position of Chief of the Aliens Section.
As part of its training in the field of Gender Violence and Equality, there are several courses given by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and the Ministry of Equality, on non-sexist use of language and equal opportunities, among other topics.
