The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, today highlighted the improvement of the quality of life in the province on the occasion of the biannual analysis of accountability of the Government of Spain, the ‘Complying’ report. “Lugo has better jobs today, better pensions, better services and more rights,” he said.
Isabel Rodríguez noted the government’s commitment to Lugo and stressed that the average retirement pension is 1,169 euros currently, 376 euros more than in 2018.
He also referred to the positive evolution of employment in the province, which reached in the first half of the year a total of 127,967 employees (in July it reached 129,416), which is 5,559 more than in June 2018, and an increase of 148% of indefinite contracts compared to 2019, up to 26,517.
Another important social advance is the consolidation of the electric social bond, which already reaches 12,564 beneficiaries in Lugo and the minimum vital income (IMV) adds 17,378 recipients in the province since 2020.
The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo valued the firm and sustained support of the Government in the province and in the whole of Galicia in these seven years, in which the community received 18.3 billion euros more than in the previous seven years, corresponding to governments of the Popular Party.
