The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted this morning the good employment data of the province after the publication of the Social Security affiliation balance for July 2025. “A Coruña continues the positive trend and stands with 484,098 members, an increase of 3,686 compared to June, which represents a growth of 0.77%, above the Galician and state average,” he said.
Since the entry into force of the labor reform at the end of 2021, A Coruña won more than 49,000 affiliates, consolidating a stronger labor market, with more youth employment, more female affiliation and a trend towards contractual stability. The deputy delegate added that “the data from A Coruña confirm that active employment policies and new labour legislation are having a positive impact in the province, especially favouring young people and women”.
Of the total number of members, 395,033 belong to the General System, while the number of self-employed workers exceeds 84,000. The year-on-year evolution is also positive: A Coruña has 3,686 members more than a year ago, which means an increase of 0.77%, maintaining a solid growth rate in a context of recovery and modernization of the labor market.
The subdelegate also stressed that “stability and quality of employment are key to establishing population in the territory, and the data show that La Coruña is moving in that direction.” At the Galician level, the community exceeds 1,113,000 members, with an increase of 20,112 people in the last year.
