The deputy delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presided today the Xunta Local de Seguridad de Guitiriz together with the mayor, Marisol Morandeira, to supervise the device on the occasion of the XLVI edition of the ‘Festival de Pardiñas 2025’.
Isabel Rodríguez pointed out the relevance of this event for the whole province. The festival is recognized as a Festival of Tourist Interest’ and will be held on August 1, 2 and 3 with musical and sports activities, as well as exhibitions, crafts, workshops and an exhibition of traditional instruments.
In addition, the meeting addressed the citizen security of the city council and the work of the Civil Guard, which in 2024 managed to solve 90 of a total of 157 prison violations, that is, 57.32%. With regard to the VioGén system for the protection and care of women victims of gender-based violence, 8 complaints and 2 violations were registered in Guitiriz last year.
It also addressed the ‘Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of School Safety in Educational Centers and their Environments’, which allowed to develop in Guitiriz 6 conferences during the 2024/2025 academic year. Of these, 2 were on substance addictions (alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) in the IES Poeta Díaz Castro; and 4 on prevention and detection of hate crimes: 3 in the CEIP Lagostelle and 1 in the IES Poeta Díaz Castro.
The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo highlighted the work done and the professionalism demonstrated by the agents of the Civil Guard and the constant collaboration and support offered by the Local Police.
