The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted this morning in Santiago de Compostela the spirit of the Armed Forces and encouraged society to approach them to know their work. He did so during a visit to the Military Airfield of Santiago de Compostela, which organized today an open day to learn about its air media. The exhibition was not attended by the Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the work of the Air and Space Army and its representation in Galicia, located in this airfield. He stressed the important action they take during the summer in extinguishing the forest fires while supervising the aircraft themselves dedicated to these purposes, the Bombardier CL-415 “BOTIJO” of Group 43, based in Torrejón de Ardoz but displaced to Compostela during the summer months. He was also able to approach other aircraft, combat aircraft and transport aircraft.
In this sense, he pointed out the “silent and sustained impulse of security” that the military of this airfield and the other dependencies of the Army carry out in Galicia, “turning it into a protected land”. Precisely this work was thanked to the Military Airfield of Santiago, to which the delegate also recognized the initiative carried out this morning and which aims to bring citizens closer to their daily means of work and #action.
