The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, celebrated that the more than 6,200 MUFACE mutualists who use concerted medical entities in the province can make use of the electronic prescription from this Tuesday. It did so in the act of implementation of this new mechanism, which took place in a pharmacy in the city of Ourense. Also in attendance were the president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Ourense, Santiago Laws; the provincial secretary of MUFACE, Verónica Ventosela; the delegate of Adeslas, Beatriz López, and the representative of Asisa Mariló Tourón.
In his speech, Eladio Santos explained that from this Tuesday the mutualists and pharmaceutical and medical professionals of the four Galician provinces can enjoy the implementation of the electronic recipe of MUFACE and thus join those of Asturias, Canarias, Cantabria, Extremadura, Balears, La Rioja, Murcia, Navarra, Ceuta, Melilla and Castilla-La Mancha. "Anyone can request the electronic prescription at their medical center and purchase their medication with their card at any pharmacy in Galicia and the other adhered communities," he said.
In this regard, the Government’s deputy delegate stressed that the digitization of pharmaceutical services offers greater security, ease and efficiency. "With this method, errors are reduced and medication control is improved, while there is a noticeable increase in comfort for patients, who will not have to travel to the doctor just to renew a prescription," he said.
In addition, the subdelegate thanked the joint effort of MUFACE and the General Council of Colleges of Pharmacists to implement the interoperability of electronic prescriptions in Spain. "Thanks to years of work, the system is modernized and becomes more environmentally friendly, as it will save a lot of paper," he said.
