The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlights the support of the Government of Spain with the development of the small concellos of Galicia with more than 60 million euros, which the Ministry of Transport has invested since 2018, in actions of conservation and maintenance of the state network in the province of A Coruña.
It did so together with the mayor of Bergondo, Alejandra Pérez; and the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, during the inauguration of the two new roundabouts located at PK 580 on the N-6 road as it passes through Guísamo, an action that involves an investment of 1.55 million euros and is financed by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
“This is a sustained and planned investment that contributes to structuring the territory, improving mobility in the Galician countryside and ensuring the safety of the entire neighborhood,” said the delegate, explaining that with this action the Government reaffirms its commitment to the development of the small concellos of Galicia. “The actions cannot and should not focus only on the large urban areas, and we know that well,” said the delegate, who also congratulated the technical teams and thanked the institutional collaboration that allowed the work to be carried out in a timely manner.
“We will continue to work with a country vision that places people at the center of public action and that understands that progress must reach all corners of Galicia.” In this context, the delegate stressed the strategic importance of institutional cooperation as a fundamental tool to guarantee territorial equity, stressing that, without effective coordination between the Ministry and Concello, initiatives such as this could not materialize.
“The sustained involvement of the Government, through the Ministry of Transport, makes it possible to respond to a demand from the mayor that represents a before and an after for Guísamo,” said Pedro Blanco.
The delegate added that these interventions in the State Road Network respond to a planning based on technical and safety criteria, acting especially in the points identified as Accident Concentration Sections. In that sense, he put in value the construction of the new roundabouts in the parish, which come to replace the previous dangerous crosses, guaranteed a significant improvement in mobility and in the protection of pedestrians. “The actions that we inaugurate today are clear evidence of the Government’s commitment to road safety and to meeting the real needs of the territory,” the delegate concluded.
