The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, put in value the action of the government in Santiago de Compostela, whose work does not cease in the objective of modernizing the city and placing it in its proper place. He did so from the sports hall of Vite, where he participated in the presentation of his rehabilitation with the mayor of Compostela, Goretti Sanmartín.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the importance of the works carried out in the Galician capital through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP), which leaves an investment of 7.5 million euros in Santiago and 979,278 € in the sports hall of the neighborhood of Vite. At the Galician level, the Government of Spain financed 80 projects to improve public buildings such as this, with a mobilization of 77 million adding the investments directly and those transferred to the Autonomous Administration.
After supervising the end of the work, the delegate stressed that its impact “directly improves the lives of the Compostelans, benefiting the talent of the local sport and the associative fabric of the city”. He recalled that this is the main motivation of the Government, “to improve people’s lives”, regardless of where they live or where they come from, “reaching each and every point of the country through collaboration between administrations and commitment to those closest to the citizens, the municipalities.”
This eagerness of the Government to ensure quality public services “comes fully to Santiago”, where it has invested 260 million euros. “These funds transform Compostela, directly affecting key points of the city and attending to the commitments with the citizens,” said Pedro Blanco, who highlighted among the works of the Government in Santiago the impulse to the Silvouta treatment plant with 50 M€, the Orbital with more than 36 or the intermodal station, with more than 30, in addition to the 33 million for the regeneration of the pavement of the runway of the airport.
