The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, presided this Friday the Local Security Board of the City of A Rúa, which addressed the crime statistics and finalized the security devices for the summer parties of the municipality. After the meeting, he encouraged the neighborhood to enjoy the celebrations "responsibly" and always complying with the rules.
The meeting, held at the City Council of A Rúa, was also chaired by the mayor, María González Albert, and was attended by members of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, who discussed the state of male violence in the locality and the data of the Master Plan for coexistence and improvement of security in educational centers and in their environments.
Eladio Santos hoped that the festivities and concerts that will animate the municipality in the summer season, especially the August festivities, will run "normally and without disturbances", because the objective is that neighbors, neighbors and visitors will always enjoy "safely". For this, the Local Police will strengthen the surveillance, with the help and collaboration of the Civil Guard.
Regarding the security situation in the municipality, the Civil Guard detailed that the total number of criminal offenses in the municipality fell in the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. "A Rúa is a safe town and I want to thank the Local Police and the Civil Guard for their joint work, which allows us to clarify the crimes and keep the streets calm," said the deputy delegate.

Currently, a total of 9 women are protected daily by the Civil Guard and the Local Police in A Rua, while the number of active cases in the province and 534. "This City Council has been part of the Integrated Monitoring of Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén) system since 2022, which facilitates coordination to maintain the safety of victims, and we have to continue working to ensure that no woman is in danger," said Eladio Santos.
