The Government Subdelegation highlights the importance of supporting initiatives that promote public health and social welfare

The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, met today with representatives of the Association of Relatives of Alcoholics in Galicia (AFALGA), within the framework of institutional support actions to entities working in the field of health and social welfare.

During the meeting, the representatives of the association explained the work of the groups aimed at relatives of people with alcohol problems, as well as the existence of the groups focused on the care of adolescent relatives of patients with this disease.

The subdelegate stressed the importance of such initiatives based on mutual aid and community participation: “His work is fundamental to accompany and give hope to those who live with the disease of alcoholism from the family and social sphere,” he said.
