The Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, today invited citizens to participate in the theatrical visits that will take place at the headquarters of the Government Subdelegation this week on the occasion of Open Administration Week 2025.
After the good reception of these visits in the last two years, the Government Subdelegation will once again open the doors of its headquarters, the historic building of Avenida de la Marina, 23, so that the main premises can be visited. There will be two sessions, both at 5 p.m., in the afternoons of Wednesday, 21 and Thursday, 22 May.
Due to the available space, this activity has a limited capacity and requires a prior registration that can be completed by filling out the form already enabled on the web of the Government Delegation, available at this link: https://run.gob.es/owi7a8f1
Content and route
The visits will be directed by Suso Martínez, historian, populariser and tourist guide/actor, a reference in the realization of theatrical guided tours. Martínez will incarnate a character, between real and fictitious, with which he will narrate the big and small stories related to the development of the building that was thirsty for the Customs, the Civil Government and today the Government Subdelegation. The visit will refer to the history of the building that was built in the eighteenth century to serve as the headquarters of the Customs, and its subsequent rehabilitation in 1947 as the headquarters of the Civil Government of A Coruña, to currently host the deaths of the Government Subdelegation.
During the tour you will be able to see the first floor, where the official offices of the subdelegate of the Government, María Rivas and the Deputy Secretary of the Delegation are located, as well as the meeting room. Already on the second floor you can visit several rooms that make up the former residence of the civil governors with their original furniture. Within the spaces that are going to be able to be visited, different outstanding pieces are preserved such as the armchair of the former civil governors of the early twentieth century, the dispatch tables, the table that was used for the “councillors” of ministers held by Arias Navarro in A Coruña in 1974 and 1975 before the councils of ministers held in the Pazo de Mevas and part of the official dining room of the civil governors.
