The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today invited the citizens to know the functioning and work of the Government in Galicia through the events of the Open Administration Week 2025, which will take place throughout the next week. The program is carried out in the four Galician provinces through the Government Subdelegations, including both events open to all citizens and others specifically aimed at students, immigrants, associations or professional groups that have links with the services of the Government Delegation and the Subdelegations.
Pedro Blanco stressed the importance of promoting transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and the collaboration of the General Administration of the State in the territory, ideas that motivate the realization of this program of activities. He valued Open Administration Week as “a good opportunity for all citizens to approach the Administration and know their values and work, at all times in their favor and at their disposal.”
The programming of the Government Delegation will start at the headquarters of A Coruña on Monday, May 19, with a course on border controls aimed at students of the IES Coruñés Menéndez Pidal. During the week there will be workshops on cybersecurity for the students of the IES Francisco Aguiar de Betanzos (Monday, 19 at the IES Francisco Aguiar de Betanzos); the new regulation on foreigners (Tuesday, 20, at O Milladoiro-Ames); on plant health (Wednesday, 21, at the Agricultural Training and Experimentation Center of Guísamo-Bergondo), and on the new fishing regulation (Friday, 23 at the Lonja de A Coruña).
On Wednesday, the government delegate will receive students from IES Elviña, who will take a guided tour of the Delegation’s facilities. This activity will provide practical information on the main services provided by the AGE, with special attention to the services of foreigners, gender violence, transparency and first experience for young people and boys.
Activities aimed at general citizenship in the province of A Coruña (A Coruña and Ferrol)
In the city of A Coruña, two activities will be held that are open to the general public. The first of them takes up an action that had a great reception in previous years: the dramatized visits to the historic building of the Government Subdelegation in A Coruña, on Avenida de la Marina. In it, the historian and tourist guide Suso Martínez will review the history of this building, starting from its birth as Casa de la Aduana and later as a thirst for the Civil Government in the province. There will be two sessions at 5 p.m. on 21 Wednesday and 22 Thursday. This activity has a limited capacity and requires a prior registration on this form, which is open from today and until next Monday at 12 noon.
Along with this activity, on Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m., a ‘Conference on Economic Violence against Women’ will be held at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, in which staff of the Tax Agency Delegation in A Coruña will participate. It will be an informative talk to make women aware of behaviors and decisions that imply financial control in the fiscal field and, therefore, another type of violence against women. Access is free and does not require registration.
With respect to the city of Ferrol, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility will organize next Thursday, May 22, at 11 a.m., a guided visit to the works of Humanization of the Avenida de las Pías (FE-14), in Ferrol. The activity requires prior registration, since it is limited to 20 places, through an available form in this section of the Ministry's website.
