The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlights the important reinforcement of the Government in the Police command cadres to consolidate Galicia as the third safest community in Spain. He received today in his office the new regional chief of operations of the Superior Police Headquarters of Galicia, the Chief Commissioner Gumersindo Vila Martínez, along with the Superior Police Chief of Galicia, Pedro Pacheco.
Pedro Blanco congratulated Gumersindo Vila on his appointment and wished him luck in his performance as regional chief of operations. He conveyed his support and encouraged him to continue to deepen the close collaboration between the police and the government. The delegate recalled the “shared spirit” of both institutions to continue improving people’s lives.
Gumersindo Vila Martínez (Ferrol, 1961) joined the police force in July 1980. He spent most of his career in Madrid, occupying positions in the Operational General Subdirectorate, in the Personnel Division and in the General Commissariats of Information and Citizen Security. No month of June of the year 2019 ascended to the category of main commissioner, being since then assigned to the Local Commissariat of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) as local head. In June 2022 he took office as chief commissioner of the Provincial Commissariat of Almeria, since he occupied it before returning to Galicia.
