The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted the importance of direct contact and permanent collaboration between institutions in order to favor the labor integration of migrants. He did so during a visit this Tuesday to the Compostela headquarters of the Construction Labor Foundation, where he was received by its manager, Fernando García Nuevo.
The deputy delegate, who was accompanied by the head of the Office of Foreigners of the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña, Julio Simón, took advantage of the visit to know the project for the labor insertion of the collective of migrants in the construction sector that develops this state non-profit foundation and that is promoting the entry into the Galician labor purchase of foreign labor to cover positions with a high demand.
In this regard, María Rivas congratulated the foundation for the work they carry out and which serves to respond to the demands of Galician companies and, at the same time, offer professional development opportunities for people who arrive in our country fleeing in many cases from conflict situations. “These are people who come to work and we need more and more of that workforce, which is why the work of entities such as the Construction Labor Foundation is more necessary today than ever,” he said.
In this regard, the deputy delegate and the head of the Office of Foreigners took the opportunity to discuss with the manager of the foundation the changes that will bring about the entry into force of the new Regulation on Foreigners on May 20 and also to respond to their concerns. “What this is about and simplifying procedures so that migrants can build in our country not only buildings, but also a life project,” said Rivas, who pointed out that the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña is already strengthening its staff to face the foreseeable increase in requests from foreigners.
The Construction Labor Foundation, with which it collaborates with the Government Subdelegation, offers continuous training for active workers and also for new workers who, in almost all, seek to obtain certificates of professionalism that improve their employability. The entity also provides labor intermediation services and provides occupational health and safety courses.
