The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, stressed today in the port of Ferrol the government’s commitment to place Spain at the forefront of naval technology. He did it during a visit this Tuesday to the submarine S-81 “Isaac Peral”, a modern and state-of-the-art ship, which is carrying out its first national navigation in the waters of Galicia.
The delegate highlighted the S-80 Program of the Ministry of Defense, of which “Isaac Peral” is part, “a true example of the great industrial capacity we have in our country, working from design to construction in a state-of-the-art submarine that meets the needs of the Navy.” Pedro Blanco was accompanied by subdelegate in the province, María Rivas; the president of the Diputación de A Coruña, Valentín González Formoso; the head of the Military Arsenal of Ferrol, Admiral Gonzalo Villar; and the delegate of Defense in Galicia, captain of Navío Jesús Ángel Paz, among others.
After passing through the Military Naval School of Marín, the “Isaac Peral” stressed in Ferrol where the students of the Navy Training Schools have the opportunity to know first-hand the technology that represents this new generation of submarines.
