The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, visited this morning the municipalities of Entrimo and Calvos de Randín to address with their respective mayors the situation of both municipalities and the projects developed in them through state contributions. In the case of Entrimo, Eladio Santos dealt with the municipal councilor, Ramón Alonso, the aid of 33,000 euros granted to the municipality for the improvement of rural roads of access to agricultural plots, which is cofinanced by the European Agricultural Fund of Rural Development, the State and the Xunta de Galicia.
In addition, they dealt with the investment of 600,000 euros for the reform of the old casino and its conversion into a hotel and hostel, within the Program of Impulse to the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings through the European funds Next Generation; as well as the state contribution of 200,000 euros in recent years for the improvement of energy efficiency in the city.
In relation to the implementation of broadband in all rural municipalities, objective of the UNICO Program, the subdelegate said that “the arrival of this service to the few remaining towns to have it in the area is going to be imminent”.
During his visit, Eladio Santos also highlighted the “Horizonte Entrimo” initiative, presented to the program of demographic challenge grants, of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, in which he was granted, pending a final resolution, a budget of 200,000 euros for its development. “This is a very interesting and complete project, for the transformation of the town hall, the tourist areas and their habitability, which highlights current good management, which develops interesting and attractive projects that manage to obtain this type of aid and is always attentive to all the calls of the ministries,” said the deputy delegate.
Visit to Calvos de Randín
For his part, during the visit to Calvos de Randín, Santos discussed with the municipal councilor, Aquilino Valencia, the support of the State Government to the municipality through grants such as 83,000 euros for the renewal of its public lighting; the grant of 4,600 granted for the improvement of municipal roads; the 1,600 euros received within the State Pact against Gender Violence and advances for the implementation of broadband.
Likewise, with both councillors the subdelegate deepened the service of help in the home, for which the State allocated 120,000 euros to Entrimo and 87,000 euros to Calvos de Randín. However, Santos pointed out that “the municipalities are facing low funding from the Xunta de Galicia. The State is about 51%, but the Autonomous Government has the responsibility to increase its contribution.”
Finally, both meetings also reviewed the improvement work carried out by the Mi⦅⦆ -Sil Hydrographic Confederation for the renovation of sanitation and supply, with an investment of more than 800,000 euros in Entrimo and 250,000 euros in Calvos de Randín.
