The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, stressed the importance of the program ‘La Administración Cerca de Ti’ to favor the digital autonomy of the inhabitants of the province. He did so this Monday after having a meeting in the Subdelegation with the director of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) in the province, Estefanía Pita; the provincial director of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Eva Fernández; his counterpart in the Treasury, Miguel Platas; Adrián Pedreira, provincial subxefe of Traffic, and staff of the Government Subdelegation, in which they addressed the possibilities of improving and expanding the portfolio of services offered in the visits.
In this regard, the deputy delegate María Rivas highlighted the Government’s effort to simplify the relations of citizens with the Administration through new applications such as ‘Importass’, in which most of the procedures can be carried out with the Social Security Treasury; those of the Tax Agency and the Land Registry, to app ‘Mi DGT’, with which you can carry the driving license on your mobile, or the simplification of the INSS benefits portal, which is complemented with the new telephone service for the procedures linked to the Minimum Vital Income (IMV). To that end, it decided to involve in this program the agencies of the Administration that offer the services most demanded by the citizens. “The objective is that anyone, from mobile or computer, can easily access all the services offered by the Administration without having to travel to the large population centers,” explained Rivas.
The subdelegate pointed out that in the visits, in addition to facilitating the issuance of the digital certificate, which serves as the key to all these platforms, the staff reports on the different processes to which they give access and provides assistance and technical support to process the procedures that the attendees need in the sessions themselves.
In this regard, and given the usefulness of this service, the subdelegate called on the provincial councillors “not to miss this opportunity to improve the attention to their neighbors and to adhere to the protocol signed between the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory that allows the development of this program.
Maria Rivas recalled that, in its first edition, ‘The Administration Near You traveled 8,728 kilometers and reached 63 of the 67 concellos in the province with less than 8,000 inhabitants (the recipients of this initiative), in which a total of 981 digital certificates were issued.
Second phase of the project
In this second phase, the program has already reached localities such as Miño and Vilarmaior and it is planned that later this month it will also visit the municipalities of Vimianzo and Carnota. In total, 32 of the 67 small concellos of the province of A Coruña are registered, who collaborate with the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña ceding the spaces in which this initiative is developed. María Rivas stressed the importance of this program, which “promotes equal opportunities between urban and rural citizens and strengthens the presence of the State in the territory, in particular, in the least populated municipalities.”
The program consists of practical informative sessions given by staff of the Government Subdelegation in A Coruña, previously formed, and, as a novelty in this edition, also of other units, such as SEPE, the General Directorate of Traffic and Social Security. In these sessions, attendees are also processed with the FMNT Digital Certificate and taught how to install it on mobile devices for use in digital relations with the Administration.
Currently, the General Administration of the State offers the possibility of carrying out more than 90% of the procedures and communications with its departments digitally, from basic procedures such as benefits, payment of taxes, driving licences, #public fee payment, requests for study aid or work life certificates, to the request for subsidies, which in many cases can only be managed telematically.
As a novelty in this edition, it is also planned to extend it to other groups and thus advance in the approach of the Administration to groups such as merchants, self-employed, students, people at risk of social exclusion, unions, gerontological centers or agrarian collectives, among others.
