The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted in Viveiro the commitment of the Government with the enhancement of the Mariña coast, with more than 600,000 euros for the beach of Covas. She did so during a visit to the sandy area in which she was accompanied by the mayor, María Loureiro, whom she thanked for her work and insistence “to make this project a reality, thus responding to a demand from the neighbors of Viveiro”.
“These actions that Costas is going to undertake in Viveiro would not be possible without the commitment of the mayor, who in this way seeks to recover for the enjoyment of citizenship and tourists this beautiful sandy area,” added the delegate, accompanied by the subdelegate in the province, Isabel Rodríguez.
In this sense, he explained that the works committed will allow to recover and value the dunes of the beach of Covas, in addition to improving the environmental quality of the sandy area and the conditions of access, since five steps to the beach adapted for people with reduced mobility are going to be enabled.
This action, in which an investment of more than half a million euros is expected, will be complemented by the improvement of security on the walkway that crosses the Landro River, a work that Costas has orzamentados in about 100,000 euros.
Pedro Blanco put these actions as an example of the Government’s commitment to the Galician municipalities, “with investments that reach each and every one of them to implement highly demanded actions that have the common objective of improving the lives of their neighbors.”
In this line, he took the opportunity to announce another action by the Ministry of Transport “vital” for the Mariña, such as the approval of the project of the route of the El Carme-Barreiros section, of the La-74 to be submitted to public information. “It is a vital infrastructure for the mobility of the region, which was blocked and forgotten in a drawer for many years, and which Pedro Sánchez had to reach the Government to recover and give it a new impulse,” argued the delegate.
