The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the Government’s effort for the conservation and improvement of the road infrastructure network in the province of Lugo, supervising the works of conditioning the road sign of the A-6 motorway as it passes through O Cereixal, in Becerreá. He did so together with the subdelegate in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, and technicians responsible for the Demarcation of Scaffolding in Galicia.
The Ministry of Transport is executing 23.1 million euros in this action on the A-6 road. “We respond to a demand from the users of this route, which is part of the work we have done to guarantee safety and offer the best conditions of movement on state roads,” said the delegate.
“The commitment of the Government of Spain to this province and its road network is evidence, as it is going to tender another 30.4 million euros to continue renewing the firms of the A-6 motorway, improving the road safety of the people and of the Lucenses,” said Pedro Blanco, who emphasized the work of Minister Óscar Puente in favor of this province.
He also recalled that this is not the only action of the Government within this field in the province of Lugo, since last month it raised the investment by 1.8 million to the understood for the improvement of the firm both in the A-6 and in the A-8 and in the A-54, “roads that withstand high traffic and that required these improvements.”
New contract for Lugo roads
The government has approved the formalization of the contract for the conservation of 268 kilometers (46.5 kilometers of motorway) of the roads in the province of Lugo for more than 17.7 million euros, “which is a new sign of the government’s commitment to the Lucense citizens and their communication channels,” as the delegate pointed out.
This contract includes actions such as accident monitoring and care, winter viability, tunnel control service or the maintenance of the facilities. It will affect sections of the A-54, the A-56 and several sections of the roads N-540, N-540La, N-547, N-640, N-120, N-120La and LU-12 (access to Lugo).
Boost to Lugo mobility
The delegate highlighted the Government’s push for high-capacity roads in the province, which has just opened a new section of the A-54 and will be in full service later this year. “We are making Lugo a connected city with a future, fulfilling a historical debt to its citizens through projects in the field of railways and roads,” said Pedro Blanco.
