The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted the improvement of security in the municipality of Ferrol, with very positive data “that reflect the impeccable and collaborative work of the National and Local Police” and that is manifested in the decrease in the crime rate, which remains below the state with 46.6 crimes per thousand inhabitants.
The deputy delegate chaired this Thursday together with the mayor of Ferrol, #José Manuel Rey Varela, the Local Security Xunta, in which data related to citizen security were analyzed, data related to gender violence in the municipality were studied and the protocol of operational coordination between National Police and Local Police was detailed, a document that systematically collects the responsibilities of each police force and the areas of collaboration. María Rivas congratulated both police forces for the work carried out in the municipality that once again improves the rate of police effectiveness, based on the resolution of crimes, increasing its rate of clarification to 50%.
He also stressed the actions related to drug trafficking, which increased by 35% with respect to last year: “This is an improvement in the work done by both the Local and National police, a further example of how police collaboration reflects in increasing security in Ferrol,” said the deputy delegate. In fact, in the last year, 306 joint devices between National and Local Police were developed in Ferrol.
MASTER PLAN
The subdelegate wanted to highlight the importance of the activities carried out within the framework of the Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of School Safety. A program promoted by the Government of Spain and the Ministry of the Interior, with which, during the course, 53 activities were carried out in 27 different educational centers of Ferrol, approaching almost 2,000 people, among students, teachers and families, “who also have a key role in prevention and awareness in youth.”
The subdelegate recalled that, since last year, the Anpas can also request the activais of the Master Plan. “The most requested activities in the educational centers in Ferrol were those related to cyberbullying and Ainda cybercrime that are also important those developed in the field of prevention of gender violence.”
VIOGÉN
The adhesion of the city of Ferrol to the VioGén system was noted and the convening of the interinstitutional coordination table against gender violence in the coming weeks was reported.
María Rivas stressed that since 2018 Ferrol received more than 110 thousand euros from the funds of the State pact to carry out actions in the field of awareness and awareness in the fight against gender violence. “The Government demonstrates, once again, its involvement with the City of Ferrol and does so through this program that allows the City to develop programs of awareness and sensitization activities against male violence.
