The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, said that she will hold a working meeting next week with the mayor of Santiago, Goretti Sanmartín, to analyze together with National Police and Local Police the measures adopted in relation to security in certain areas of the city.
He agreed to this after having a meeting in Santiago with the commissioner of the National Police, Nuria Palacios, in which they addressed the work that the National Police is developing in the city council.
In this regard, María Rivas stressed that every week there is a coordination meeting between National Police and Local Police in which the strategies and devices to be developed are agreed. In fact, the police presence has already been strengthened in several areas of the city and especially in the areas demanded by the neighborhood. In addition, there are permanent contacts of the Citizen Participation area with neighborhood groups and for an important work in the field of investigation developed by the Judicial Police area.
Finally, the subdelegate highlighted the work and daily effort of the State Security Forces and Corps to consolidate Santiago as one of the safest localities in Galicia.
